1. Martin Luther King Jr. was the most important voice of the American civil rights movement, which worked for equal rights for all. He was famous for using nonviolent resistance to overcome injustice, and he never got tired of trying to end segregation laws.

2. He had a dream that one day little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.

3. Yes, because now little black girls and boy and little white boys and girls are able to join hands.

4. On the book cover it shows a white boy and a black guy, so i think Theodore Taylor wanted to get the word out to people like Martin did.

5. I think it is about a kid and a guy who get stranded on the an island and they have to stay together to survive. They get help, i don't know how they get help i will have to find out when we read the book.

Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. was a person against racism and a lecturer.
His dream has not fully come true but partially because there is still racism.
His dream was that a person would not be judged by the color of their skin.
The dedication means that a young one must know exactly what the dream means and to understand it. It will be about a colored person saving or helping a person of a different race.

1) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an African-American man who helped limit segregation and racism.
2) King's "dream" was to have all slavery, all racism, all segregation, etc. end.
3) I believe that his dream has partly come true. There is less racism now than there was during King's lifetime, but there is still some.
4) I think this dedication means that King's dream will only come true if people know about racism and what is going on in the world when they are very young. Then they will understand for the rest of their lives.
5) I predict the book will be about a young Asian boy and and old African man. I think they will help each other through tough times and become friends. It will probably teach a lesson about racism and how horrible it is.

1. Martin Luther King Jr. was a legendary figure in American history. He created a huge peaceful revolt against racist behavior.
2. His dream was to have people be color blind. In his speech he stated, “ I have a dream that my four little children will live in a nation where they are not judged by the color on their skin.
3. I believe that his dream has mostly come true yet in some parts of America there is still racist behavior.
4. I believe it means that if we teach children to not judge people based on skin color then when they grow up they will teach their children that and so on. Thus creating a non racist nation.
5. I predict this book will be about an African man who is stranded with a Caucasian boy and the boy is probably initially maybe scared of the man. Though I believe by the end of the story he will become “Color Blind”.

MLK was a strong believer of no racism against colored people.

His dream was to stop racism and make the whites not always think there the best and can put human life in a lower class, just because of there color.

What MLK said is that if younger people learn about racism they will spread and we will finally have no racism in this world.

I think this book is a boy and a old man who are stranded on the island, they probably make a unique friendship between a black and a white. MLK would be proud

1. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a man that opposed segregation. He played a large role in reducing the amount of racism in the United States.
2. Martin Luther King Junior’s dream was to have absolutely no racism in the country whatsoever.
3. I believe that the amount of people in the United States that still believe in racism has significantly gone down. However, there are still some that believe in it. ( For example, the recent racist YouTube video of a girl from UCLA) This proves that his dream has not quite been fulfilled.
4. I think this dedication means that elder peoples’ minds have been washed out with the belief of racism. However, if young, fresh minds take a look at racism, they will see the wrong in it. The new generation can maybe put a stop to it.
5. I predict the book will be about Phillip and Timothy having to look past their different colored skins and lean onto each other to survive while being stranded on a cay.

1) Dr. Martin Luther King was an African-American who spoke against segregation between African-Americans and Caucasians.
2) His “dream” was that one-day people wouldn’t treat each other differently because of their race and that all would be treated equally.
3) I believe that his main intensions have come true, however, there are some people and group that still can’t get around the color that people wear on their skin.
“To Dr. King’s dream, which can only come true if the young know and understand.”
4) I think this dedication means that his dream can only come true if the new generations start realizing that color doesn’t matter. Then when they grow up on that belief they will be able to teach their children and their children will teach their children, so on. In the end, everyone will have accomplished ridding the thought that those who are of different color should be treated differently.
5) I predict it will be about a young boy who gets stranded with someone of a different raise. Maybe the boy will be, sort of, reluctant towards the older man, but soon warm up to him. And then a big storm will come in and the man will try to save the younger boy and probably get injured. But, I am clueless how the book will end and can’t wait to find out!

1.Dr. Martin Luther King, jr. was a brave man who fought for equal rights for African Americans. He made a famous speech in Washington, D.C. to express his peaceful feelings.
2.His dream was for every race to be equal and balanced in the stressful times where African Americans were segregated.
3.There are still some people that are racist against not just black people, but other races as well. Therefore, I don’t fully think his dream has come true.
4.I think that this dedication means that we, as free Americans, should pass on Dr. King’s dream and say how he made a big impact on the lives of many African Americans.
5.I think the book is about two friends, a man and a boy, who are stranded on a deserted cay in the Caribbean, must work together to survive with nobody else to contact.

1.) Dr. Martin Luther King Junior was an African American man who wanted to stop racism. At that time, black people were treated like “bad guys”. They had to drink in different fountains, stand in buses, and some restaurants did not allow them. He, along with many other people, thought this was very unfair, so he did many protests. He said a famous speech at Washington DC. He hoped that one day America would have Racial Equality.
2.) He dreamed that America, and all other places, would have Racial Equality. He wanted African Americans to be treated just like everybody else.
3.) I think his dream mostly came true. African Americans are definitely not segregated. They are free and are treated just like everyone else, which is what Martin Luther King dreamed about. And now there is an African American president! But there are still people out there who think they are different, look at them differently, and dislike the African American.
4.) If think it means that if parents teach their children not to judge about people’s skin color, the kids will grow up and be educated and listening to their parents.
5.) I think the book will be about a little white boy and a black man who are good friends, but people do not want them to be friends, due to their skin color. I think that they will get stranded on an island and try to survive.

1. Martin Luther King was an African American man that did not believe in racism or segregation.

2. Martin Luther’s dream was to be able to live in a world with no slavery or segregation. He wished that people were colorblind and did not judge people by the color of their skin.

3. I think that MLK’s dream has mostly come true. There is not that much racism, but there is still some.

4. I think the dedication to the book means that Martin Luther King’s dream will only come true if kids know as well as grown ups.

5. I think that during this book, Timothy and Philip will be stuck on a island and learn to be “colorblind.”

1) Dr, Martin Luther King junior was a United States civil rights leader and Baptist minister who campaigned against the segregation of African American people.
2) His dream was that all people from kinds of ethnic back rounds would accept each other for who they were and not have segregation.
3) I don’t believe that this dream has fully come true but it is definitely on it’s way.
4) The dedication in the Cay means that in order for the dream to really come true, children and young people should learn about it, pass the message on, and truly believe in it.
5) I think the book will be about a Caucasian boy and an elderly African man who are stranded on an island. At first they maybe dislike each other because of their back rounds but slowly start to help each other survive and accept the other’s race.

Martin Luther King was a famous racial judgment protester. Martin Luther King’s dream is for all to be treated equal, not judged by the color of one’s skin. I don’t think his dream has been fully fulfilled because there are still people judging by skin color. I think the quote from the Cay means that if the young understand judging by the color of skin is not right, the next generation will not do it. I think the book will be about two people with different skin color coming together to save themselves.

Dr. Luther King Jr. was man who was against segregation and racism. His dream was that no matter if you are black or white, everyone is treated equally. I believe that his dream has partially come true because there is still racism, but not as much as in the 60s. The dedication for The Cay means that the younger people who know racism is not a good thing can help stop it someday when they grow older. I think the book will be about an older man and boy who help each other survive during and after a storm.

1)Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a black man who wanted to stop segregation. Charlie, I disagree with you because Martin Luther King was definitely not the most important voice in equal rights for black people, but when they had hated white people, they had a good reason but if it had not been for one particular white person they would all be slaves still including Martin Luther King, this person is President Abraham Lincoln, who had stopped slavery.
2)MLK’s dream was that all black people would be free and there would be no racial indifference.
3)His dream had come true a little and I say this,” Well MLK I guess your dream has come true because of Obama being president, eh?”
4)I think the dedication means that his dream continues through the young people of today.
5)I think the Cay is about an African man and an English boy who got stranded there from a boat crash or something.

1. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was the most important speaker in the civil rights movement. He made his famous “I Had A Dream” speech in front of the Washington Memorial in Washington D.C. He opposed all segregation laws.

2. His dream was that everyone would be treated equal. He wanted nobody to be treated differently because of the color of their skin.

3. I believe that his dream is halfway there. There is much less racism then there was when King lived, but there still is a lot.

4. I think this dedication means that the children should learn awful and cruel segregation is and understand it as well. Then, hopefully, when they’re older, the children will try to put a stop to it.

5. I predict that the book will be about a white boy and a black stranded on an island, trying to stay alive from nasty storms to clean water and food shortage.

1. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an African-American who fought for justice regarding rights of the African descents. He gave many speeches that influenced crowds of people, but much of his work wasn’t finished until after his death. Fairness in that regard has still not been fully accomplished.

2. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream was to end discrimination and for racial equality. His famous “I Have a Dream” speech took place on August 28, 1963.

3. As said in Question 1, I believe that fairness racially has still not been fully accomplished. In Health, we did a whole unit on bullying, and one of the categories was indeed racial bullying. We can do so much more against this treatment, so no, I do not thing that Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream has come true. We have surely accomplished something, but not enough to say that the problem is no longer in effect.

4. I think that the dedication of The Cay means that the author is undoubtedly a believer against segregation and discrimination. I also think it means that Dr. King’s dream has to be understood and accepted before it can become reality. It has to start with a new generation all in favor of Dr. King’s proposal, and then it can stand true.

5. I think that The Cay might be about the world when it is a time of hardship for African Americans and, a wild guess I know, but the man named Timothy has fled his home because of the mistreatment done to him. I don’t know how Philip gets on the island, but they must become very good friends while on it together. I think that Phililp also doesn’t really have a clue about all this segregation stuff. And maybe this is why Timothy becomes such good friends with him, because the boy treats him like a real person. When and if the two get back home, I think that Philip starts to be against all of this segregation, and puts up a fight about it.

1. Dr. King was the person who made the speech about how racism is bad.
2. His dream was to stop racism. He thinks that there should be one thing for everyone not like one black park one white park he thinks it should be one park for everyone.
3. It has not come true yet but its getting there. It is way better than back then but it is still work in progress.
4. The dedication is about his speech and I think he put that dedication there because maybe the story is during segragation.
5. I think the story will be about a black guy that is in his 50s and a white kid our age, being stranded on an island together.

3) I believe that Martin Luther King's dream has partly come true because segregation has stopped, but racism and prejudice is still going on but not as bad as it used to be.

4)The dedication means that we need to teach young people about how bad racism is early, so that they never think about peoples races and It keeps going on.

5) I predict that the story is about a Caucasian boy who becomes friends with a african man and the survive the rough storms on the cay together.
